The Hospice Fund, administered by Amedisys' Christen Foundation, was founded to ensure support and financial assistance to terminally ill patients and their families. Our Fund can lend a helping hand to those patients and/or family members who may not have the financial resources to pay for basic needs such as food and utilities, or for medications and supplies to those who are not covered by Medicare, Medicaid, or other insurance hospice plans.
In addition, the Fund provides special grants for patients and/or family members to support last wishes, such as transportation to bring families together. Grants from the Fund are also used for community activities, end-of-life care education, and bereavement services.
Through this program, we are able to give our patients peace of mind so that they can focus on experiencing the final stages of life with dignity, free of pain, and within the comforting surroundings of home, family, and friends-no matter what the patient's financial status may be.
But we rely on contributions. All donations and in-kind gifts are tax deductible under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code and help support hospice care for those who otherwise could not pay. You can make a huge difference in someone's life through one of the following donations:
