We highly recommend your hospice to anyone we come in contact with. We couldn't have made it without your help, support, and encouragement."

A hospice volunteer is a special part of the hospice team. If you have a desire to make a difference in the lives of the terminally ill or those who are grieving by giving of your time to assist a patient, family member, or our office staff, then you have the qualities we're looking for in our volunteers.
New hospice volunteers participate in free training that provides information regarding the hospice philosophy of care, volunteer roles, communication skills, the psychosocial and spiritual aspects of death, and the interdisciplinary approach to hospice care. On average, hospice volunteers give 4-8 hours per month.
Hospice offers three types of volunteer opportunities:
- Direct Care Volunteers-These are volunteers, ages 16 and older, who provide direct support to a patient or family member through activities such as sitting with a patient to provide relief to a caregiver, running errands for a patient or family member, being a friend to the patient or caregiver, helping those who are grieving, praying with a patient, reading, singing, or offering other services to assist with emotional or spiritual support.
- Clerical/Administrative Volunteers-These are volunteers, ages 12 and older, who assist in the office and provide support through clerical activities.
- Special Projects Volunteers-These are volunteers of any age who are part of a group or work independently to provide support to the office staff or to provide comfort items for patients.
