A Way to Pass with Dignity and Comfort
It is difficult to express in words the wonderful experience and care that we received from hospice during my wife's illness. I c ould nto have cared for my wife, at home, without your professional and expert staff. You provided a way for us to live and die with dignity and comfort, and for that we are forever grateful. We appreciate every aspect of the program from the physical, social, mental and spiritual help received during and after her passing. Every need was met with genuine care and thoughtfulness.

Each and everyone was always there to meet our needs, whatever they may be. I received countless phone calls to ask how I was doing and if I ever needed anything. Day and night, they responded. To Help Keep Me Home from the Hospital
I have nothing but praise for the two nurses and physical therapist who came to my home a couple of days each week to work with me. These people were not only professional but were caring, friendly and dedicated to their work.-Jeannine, AZ
At this point in time, I am home from the hospital recovering from a serious illness. My doctor contacted a home health care provider to help me through recovery and keep me home from the hospital.
My experience with Amedisys Home Health Care has been very satisfactory. In fact, I have nothing but praise for the two nurses and physical therapist who came to my home a couple of days each week to work with me. These people were not only professional but were caring, friendly and dedicated to their work.
I would like to thank my doctor for recommending home health care as well as nurses Gino and Jesus, physical therapist Brian, and Medicare for taking care of the expenses for this home service.
The Amedisys Home Health Care plan certainly was a good one and worked very well for me.

I fell down some stairs about a month ago and wound up in the hospital for four days. I didn't break any bones, but when I got home, I was still in great pain and needed a lot of help and equipment in order to do all the basics of life. I can't say enough about how thankful I am for Amedisys' home health services and for their fabulous staff, and would like to recognize my angels personally:
Dave Methlie, Physical Therapy Asst., got me back on my feet, climbing steps again and helped my tortured leg muscles heal.
Teresa Polk, Physical Therapist, assessed my damage and sent me Dave.
Tia Martin, Home Health Aide, kept me clean and pumped up my spirits.
Sue McCall, Occupational Therapist, taught me how to get along while I was disabled.
Cheryl Gill, RN, for checking on me often and cheering me on.

Bringing Hope & Healing

I have multiple sclerosis, which was diagnosed in 1997. I have consistently been in physical therapy since 2003, when I first began to lose my ability to walk. One therapist told me, “You know you will never walk again.” This was not the attitude exhibited by Eric Estes of Amedisys Home Health Care of Tuscaloosa. After his first visit he said to me, “I don’t know how much I can help you, but I will do my best to get you where you can go.” Eric has been true to that promise.
He has made every appointment for therapy (missing only when I have been unable to participate). He sets goals for my treatment and he explains to me what he expects to happen. He is very understanding of my disability and displays great patience when I can’t perform the tasks he expects. Most importantly, he calls before each visit to let us know when he will arrive.
For the first time since 2003, I am beginning to stand. I am very pleased with my progress and felt it appropriate to let you know how much I appreciate Amedisys and the staff members they have sent to work with me.

We want to say thank you to the wonderful people from Amedisys Home Health Care for the special care provided during the last months of J.B. Adkins’ time here on earth. This care meant so much to Sue Adkins and Gary Adkins along with J.B. No names will be mentioned due to the possibility of inadvertently leaving a name out, and we definitely don’t want to do that.
The staff not only was very professional in their duties, but always, and I mean always, took time for any personal needs with the family. Sue always made sure drinks and candy were available if the staff desired them. Even though J.B.’s dog Lillie was sometimes a hindrance, the staff would always work around her.
J.B. really looked forward to everyone’s visit. When they would ask him to do something he would sing them the answer. For example, if they asked him to stand up he would sing, “Stand up. Stand up for Jesus.” He had a hymn for each request.
Each and every one of the staff was welcomed by J.B. with open arms. Everyone treated him with respect, kindness and professionalism.
We would like to extend our appreciation to two special people at Briarcliff Nursing Home. Connie waited on J.B.’s every need in a kind, swift manner without losing her personal touch. If there was ever a perfect roommate, John was the one for J.B. He made sure J.B. was taken care of. He kept extra milk and juice in his personal refrigerator. He was always pleasant to all of us and has been adopted into the Adkins family.
A very special thanks to our fire department – over the last couple of years we needed help when J.B. would fall. They were always there quickly and always courteous. Oh, how lucky we are to have such a fine fire department.
